The Alternative Press Expo hits San Francisco this weekend and the Isotope is going to be throwing some great events to help you celebrate the comic books in high style.
First up is an in-store for all you romantic types out there. The Eisner-Nominated Tom Beland will be in from Puerto Rico and hanging out at the Isotope this Wednesday (February 18th) from 1pm to 6pm. Tom is known for his incredible real-life romance comic
True Story Swear to God and he will be making comics before your very eyes at our Permanent Art Installation. I couldn't think of a more perfect post-Valentine's Day opportunity to impress your sweetheart and get Tom to draw you a sketch for your loved ones.

Wednesday, February 18th
1pm - 6pm (I'd bet my last dollar that this one's going to go late)
This Saturday (February 21st) is the Isotope's epic APE AFTERMATH 2004 from 8pm until 5am. Hands down this is the biggest, craziest and most wild event of the year and I expect we will be hosting the usual massive crowd of cool comic creators, connoisseurs and characters that APE AFTERMATH is famous for.
At 9pm we will be kicking off our Isotope Award for Excellence in Mini-Comics ceremony and handing out the gold to our lucky winner. Special guest and last year's award winner Rob Osborne (1000 Steps to World Domination) will be reflecting on his past year as an Isotope Award winner and also making a special announcement.
After 10:30pm APE AFTERMATH becomes a 21-and-over event and this year we will be featuring one of San Francisco's finest rare brews, The Double Daddy, from Speakeasy Brewery. Only 26 kegs of this fantastic beer have been made, and we couldn't be prouder to have secured one of these for your APE AFTERMATH drinking pleasure.
In the Isotope tradition, the bar is open and there is never a cover charge. Coat and tie not required.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the new faces and old friends that the Alternative Press Expo brings to town, and hope to see you at the convention or at one of our events!
