Nominations for the 55th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards for the period of June 1, 2002 through May 31, 2003, were announced Thursday, July 17 by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences from the Leonard H. The Magic Whistle series from Alternative Comics, was nominated this year in the Emmy Awards category of “Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming Less Than One Hour)” for his writing on the
SpongeBob SquarePants television episode “Clams” for Nickelodeon. In the “Clams” episode, in celebration for Mr. Krabs' one millionth dollar, he takes Squidward and SpongeBob on a fishing trip, but a giant clam snatches Mr. Krabs' precious dollar. How will he get it back?
The awards presentation telecast awarding Emmys in 27 categories before a black-tie audience will be televised by the FOX Television Network on Sunday, September 21, from the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium. The Academy's Governors Ball will follow the telecast at the Shrine Exhibition Hall, adjacent to the auditorium.
