My name's Daniel Way and I'm a writer for Marvel Comics. Hopefully, you've heard of me. My wife, Tiffany, and I came up with this idea. It's gonna work.
Anyway...on with the show:
You love minicomics and zines, right? We love minicomics and zines! You want to publish your stuff and get it out there, right? Well, we want you to get it out there, too! You're broke, right?
We're not gonna give you any money!
What we will give you, however, is the opportunity to get your publication printed at substantially less than what you'd pay virtually anywhere else. Why? Because we love you.
No...really.
Bad Press doesn't make money. It's a co-op...it's not supposed to. But that's not the point. The point is, we love independently-published comics and zines and we recognize the fact that it costs a lot of people a lot of money to produce them. A big reason why a lot of minis and zines go under is because they're often sold for what it costs to produce them--if not less (especially when you factor in the time and effort producing the work, itself). Enter Bad Press, a printing co-op made up of indy publishers. By ganging up the print runs, the unit cost is lowered to...well, to almost nothing if you publish frequently enough.
