[event:comix] UK WEB & MINI COMIX THING 2004
The UK Web Comix Thing 2004 is a convention aimed at the web and mini comix industry of the UK. Designed to provide the UK with something on par with the Small Press Expos held in the US, the event will bring together creators of independent, alternative, underground and unconventional styles of comics creativity and give the general public, fans and aspiring artists a chance to browse the talent of today in this leading edge industry.
Time: 6 March 2004 10am - 4pm

Organisers
The event is being managed by Patrick Findlay although it is hoped that other people will volunteer their time in order to make the day a success. In particular the event needs people to fulfill the following roles:
Needed!!!
• General Assistant (x1-4): help with taking money at the door, assist with set-up and clear-up, help exhibitors and visitors.
• Tuck Shop Attendent: Man a tuck shop stall selling cans of pop, chochlate and crisps.
• IT Director: Run an IT workshop to help people with computer problems associated with making web comixs.
• Artists in Residence: It would be nice for people to be present for periods throughout the day to look at people's art and provide tips.
• Judge: A competition or two would be good. And someone to run it even better. There could be a competition for best mini of the day as well as other stuff.
• Americas stand: Because of the huge impact of the American market on the UK web & mini comix scene there will be an Americas table which will have minis from the US (this is provisional on people from the US sending them for use).
If you want to volunteer for any of these roles then e-mail ASAP on
patrick@findlay61.fsnet.co.uk.
