WORLD WAR THREE ILLUSTRATED is an experimental comic magazine that has been saying no to war since 1979. This show marks the release of "Taking Liberties", which deals with the Patriot Act, loss of civil liberties, and of course, the endless war in the Middle East. "Taking Liberties" features new work by Art Spiegelman, Tom Tomorrow and Sue Coe as well Seth Tobocman, Pete Kuper, Nicole Schulman, Kevin Pyle and other World War III artists.

Seth Tobocman: One of the founding editors of WORLD WAR 3 ILLUSTRATED, Seth Tobocman is the author of the graphic novels WAR IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD (Autonomedia) and YOU DON’T HAVE TO FUCK PEOPLE OVER TO SURVIVE (Soft Skull Press). His graphic novel PORTRAITS OF ISRAELIS AND PALESTINIANS FOR MY PARENTS was published by Softskull Press this year. He currently teaches political cartoon art at the School for the Visual Arts.

Mac McGill: Known for his haunting pen and ink whorly visions of New York City and African-Americana, Mac McGill has long been part of the Lower East Side radical front. He is a frequent contributor for WORLD WAR III ILLUSTRATED and has also been featured in books on Mumia Abul-Jabar. Other work includes the cover art for EXIT 23: UTOPIA by Steven Wishnia (The Imaginary Press).

Peter Kuper: One of the founding editors of WORLD WAR III ILLUSTRATED, Peter Kuper is the author and illustrator of numerous books including THE SYSTEM (DC Vertigo) and NY NY (Fantagraphics). Other work includes an illustrated adaptation of Upton Sinclair’s THE JUNGLE.

Sabrina Jones: Sabrina has been writing and illustrating comics since the 1980s. As a co-editor of WORLD WAR III ILLUSTRATED, she has focused on women’s issues such as the "Bitchcraft" issue of December 2000 and "Female Complaints". In the '90s she co-founded GIRLTALK, a collection of women’s autobiographical comics, published by Fantagraphics. Her artwork has been exhibited in a variety of venues including theaters, bookstores, bars, cathedrals, colleges and squats. She is part of Judson Memorial Church’s STart.

Kevin Pyle: is the author of LAB, USA (Autonomedia, 2001), a graphic novel about government experimentation on human subjects at their expense.
