[event:zines] ZINE PROGRAMMING DURING BUMBERSHOOT - SEATTLE, AUGUST 29 - SEPTEMBER 1
Hugo House's Zine Archives and Publishing Project (ZAPP) producing 4 days of zine programming at Bumbershoot
SEATTLE - There'll be a new look to Bumbershoot's literary programming in 2003: "Ink Spot" will include a series of free self-publishing workshops, a visual exhibition of zines, mini-comics and mail art, and free interactive performances and panel discussions throughout the annual arts festival's four days, Aug. 29-Sept. 1.
The joint project between Richard Hugo House's Zine Archives and Publishing Project (ZAPP) and One Reel, "Bumbershoot's non-profit producer" will take over Seattle Center's Snoqualmie Room. Ink Spot will provide an interactive space where people are given the tools to create, produce, re-produce, distribute and perform their work for and within an experienced and encouraging community.
INK SPOT's Zine workshops, presented by highly respected cartoonists, writers, artists and publishers from across the country, will allow visitors the opportunity to publish their own work. Visitors will both experience and participate in readings, panel discussions and guerilla theater presented by Seattle arts organizations and small-press poets and writers.

ZAPP Co-op
