[event:comix] INFLUENCE OF COMICS IN CONTEMPORARY ART: LECTURE IN HOUSTON, JUNE 27
June 27, 5:30 pm-9 pm. The Contemporary Arts Museum (5216 Montrose, Houston, Tex.) presents another Steel Lounge event relating to the exhibit, "Splat Boom Pow!: The Influence of Comics in Contemporary Art". This month's lecture is by Gene Kannenberg, Jr., assistant professor in the Department of English at University of Houston, Downtown. Kannenberg has written and lectured extensively on the subject of comics and has used graphic novels in his courses on children's and young adult literature. His lecture will begin at 6:30 pm. The exhibit closes June 29.
