The 2003 National Comics Awards were announced at this past weekend's Comic Festival in Bristol, England and were voted on by comic readers in the UK. Ballot forms were included in the Comic Festival programme,
Tripwire magazine,
Borderline magazine,
2000AD comic,
The Dandy,
Warhammer monthly and on the website

• KNOCKABOUT AWARD FOR BEST SELF-PUBLISHED OR INDEPENDENT COMIC:
Jack Staff by Paul Grist
• BULLETPROOF COMICS AWARD FOR BEST ONLINE STRIP:
Fred The Clown by Roger Langridge
